In contemporary history, the term Shoah means the genocide of the Jewish population and culture perpetrated from 1935 to 1945 in Germany and in the countries occupied by the Rome-Berlin Axis powers during the Second World War according to the racist anti-Semitic ideology preached by Adolf Hitler, and implemented by the German National Socialist Party.
Anti-Semitism was adopted by Italian fascism with the racial laws of November 1938 for the defense of the Italian race.
