Apartheid

Apartheid (literally "separation") is the term that defines the racial segregation policy instituted by the white ethnic government of South Africa after World War II, which remained in effect until 1993.

It was declared an international crime by the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid adopted by the United Nations General Assembly with Resolution 3068 (XXVIII) of 30 November 1973. Leader of the fight against Apartheid, the future President of South Africa - and Nobel Peace Prize - Nelson Mandela.

Over the years, thanks also to the contribution of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, of Professor Marcello Flores and Gariwo collaborators, we have collected a series of analyzes, articles and insights on South Africa, Nelson Mandela and the period of the struggle against apartheid.
