The Garden of the Righteous of San Donato was born on 25 May 2018, thanks to the work of Liceo Primo Levi and Scuola media Alcide De Gasperi.
The first two trees has been dedicated to Andrea Riccardi, the founder of the Community of Sant'Egidio, and two main characters of the Balkans war: Dusko Kondor, Bosnian activist and teacher murdered for testifying about Serb crimes and Lazar Manojlovic, the headmaster who opposed the ethnic cleansing inside his school and lost his job.
The inauguration came with a guided tour to an exhibition made by students about violence against women, migrants, terrorism, poverty and with a performance made by Ilaria Ferro and Agnese Meroni. Students were leaded by teachers Alessandra Caponio, Adele Neri, Vincenza Spatola, Rossella Della Corte and Concetta Russo.
