Foundation for Polish-German Reconciliation

It is a no profit institution founded in 1991 on the basis of a treaty between the Federal German Republic and the Republic of Poland to support the Nazi victims, promote reconciliation between the two nations and favour dialogue between the two societies and the different generations. First of all it refunded the former KL prisoners and labour slaves, then it provided non financial assistance to the Polish victims of Nazism, eventually it gave rise to numerous and high-profile educational projects. It is also a seat to cooperation initiatives.

Wefor is our Website dedicated to the figures of moral resistance against totalitarianism. The virtual Gardens of Europe’s Righteous and the teaching section YouFor are the core of this project realized by Gariwo, the forest of the Righteous. Through the establishment of the European Day of the Righteous by the Brussels Parliament, Wefor has received its highest recognition.
