History Meeting House

It is an institute founded in 2006 by Warsaw communal authorities following KARTA Center’s positive experience and it provides a frame of excellence for intensive education of the young people on Twentieth Century history. Its premises in particular host the multimedia exhibition “Faces of Totalitarianism” besides temporary expositions, film shows and other events of major cultural relevance. Visitors can access a bookshop, a reading room and the Media Library offering pictures, videos and invaluable pieces of testimony. 


Multimedia productions set up to present characters, stories, places, events which marked the history of Europe and its neighbouring regions.

Wefor is our Website dedicated to the figures of moral resistance against totalitarianism. The virtual Gardens of Europe’s Righteous and the teaching section YouFor are the core of this project realized by Gariwo, the forest of the Righteous. Through the establishment of the European Day of the Righteous by the Brussels Parliament, Wefor has received its highest recognition.
