During the Second World War, at the end of the summer of 1944, Mrs. Emily Bayer, a German citizen and recruited to work for the German command of Milan, offered Mrs. Clara Schwarz, to her mother and sisters - all of Jewish origin - free hospitality in an apartment owned by her, where the family lived until the spring of 1946.
