Budimir Budo Koprivica (1935)

He protected those persecuted in Mostar and defended their property.

Budimir Budo Koprivica was born in Mostar in 1935. He worked as a fashion designer, and he is now retired.

Since April 1992, risking his life, he protected those in Mostar who were persecuted for religious and ethnic reasons and defended their property from theft and destruction
. In April 1992, he saved two of his neighbors, mother and daughter, from ethnic rape, offering them his summer house in Dalmatia as a refuge.

Immediately after the war, he was one of the first citizens to return to Mostar: through his example, he encouraged others to do the same. For his courage, he received the Duško Kondor Civil Courage Award in 2012.

His biography is taken from the archive of Duško Kondor Award for Civil Courage. We would like to thank Svetlana Broz for providing the material to the editorial staff.
