From February 20 to March 27, 2023, the Shoah Memorial in Milan hosts an exhibition - made of author period photos and infographics installations - that tells the first twenty years of Milan Garden of the Righteous Worldwide, highlighting its close relationship with the historical memory of the city.
At the core of the exhibition, there are the stories of the exemplary figures honoured in the Garden and the images of the ceremonies that have animated this place since January 2003.
Inspired by Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, Milan Garden of the Righteous Worldwide on Monte Stella hill soon became the stage for cultural activities, concerts and meetings with schools related to human rights and individual responsibility; also inspiring the birth of other 200 similar Gardens around world and a law of the European Parliament aimed at recognizing an International Day for the Righteous.
The inauguration event has been on March 20 with the participation of:
Mario Vanni, Chief of Cabinet of the Mayor of Milan, Martina Landi, Gariwo Foundation Project Manager, Roberto Jarach, President of the Shoah Memorial Foundation of Milan, Gabriele Nissim, President of Gariwo Foundation, Pietro Kuciukian, Honorary Consul of Armenia in Italy.
