A gallery of the pictures taken during the event organized by Gariwo Foundation, along with the Association of the Iranian’s diaspora Maana, in occasion of the Sizdah bedar, the Iranian’s Day of nature. It was a morning of celebration, but also of discussion on very important topics alongside the Iranian community. A very emotional moment was, particularly, the dancing one, which was guided by the professional Iranian dancer Saba Poori. It has been organized with the aim of expressing solidarity to the whole Iranian people in revolt and - in particular - to the five Iranian girls from Ekbatan, Teheran, that had been arrested for sharing a video on TikTok in which they were dancing.
At the Ulianova Radice amphitheater, located in the Garden of the Righteous of Milan, there have been the speeches of Gabriele Nissim, Gariwo’s President, Rayhane Tabrizi, Maana Association’s President, the Italian Parliamentarian Silvia Roggiani and Mehdi Harandi, a member of the Iranian community of Milan.
After the speeches, a moment of remembrance and sharing was organized at the memorial stone of Neda Agha Soltan, the Iranian student who died on June 20th 2009 while she was demonstrating during a protest in Teheran, therefore becoming a symbol of the dissent against the Iranian regime.
