Timeout to tolerance in Tunisia

Ban to play with Israeli athletes

Someone writes time out, but another reads time raus, like they did in the time of the nazi-fascists. In fact, against all of the rules of good sportsmanship, the Tunisian Tennis Federation has ordered athlete Malek Jaziri to forfeit his match against Amir Weintraub, an Israeli player. Jaziri received the order via e-mail, a message that was delivered to the press by his brother, whose name is Amir like the name of the man whom the athlete would have competed against in the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament at Tashkent.

The Tunisian minister of sports has confirmed that the Federation consulted before sending the e-mail, while the president of the Federation refused to comment. Arab countries have often put forms of boycotts on Israeli sports to protest against their situation with Palestine, at times ruining the careers of talented players.
