Delara Darabi is a painter condemned to death for a crime she committed when she was 17. In hiding to escape the international protests, the Iranian authorities executed her on 1st May. In doing so, they also violated the Iranian law prescribing that the relatives be warned of the execution 30 days in advance. This is also not the first violation of women's rights that Iran commits. Roxana Saberi is an Iranian-American journalist sentenced to 8 years imprisonment upon false accuses of espionage. In 2003, photoreporter Zahra Kazemi was tortured to death in jail in Teheran. In Afghanistan a law project aimes at legalizing domestic rape. The associations from all over the world have been mobilizing to stop the State violence against women. As Delara's story shows, calling off is not enough.
