Bin Laden was killed and extremists mourn him as a martyr. On the Web the new receives a puzzled and incredulous response. Emanuela Fontana in Italian newspaper Il Giornale writes: "Hymns are raised on jihadist Websites. Osama Bin Laden, the hero of evil, becomes the saint of madness. Shahid, Allah's witness. In his name anonymous wouldbe kamikazes swear they will carry out a reprisal". In Egypt the Muslim Brothers demand the withdrawal of the American troops now that Bin Laden has been assassinated.
In Israel there is a growing alert for possible terrorist attacks near airports and the borders. Hamas head of the government in the Gaza Strip, Ismail Haniyeh, fiercely condems the murder by defining Bin Laden "a fighter of the Muslim Holy War". In Pakistan instead the talebans swear they will take revenge for the murder of their leader and vow to carry out new attacks against Americans and "the government of Islamabad". The spokesman of the Ttp (Tehrik-e-Taleban Pakistan) makes known he can't confirm Osama bin Laden's martyrdom".
