A Polish Roma from Stanisławów, she lost all members of her big family exterminated by the Nazis. She saved herself and decided that, from that day on, her mission would have been the following: wherever a crime was taking place, against Roma or Jews, she would have saved as many children as possible. In fact, she saved over fifty, making them escape from the transports, in sacks of feathers, hiding them under her wide colored skirts.
She will be honoured at Milan Garden of the Righteous on March 3, 2023.
