The Gardens of the Righteous are memories of non-violence

If we scroll through the biographies of those whom the Gardens of the Righteous intend to commemorate, we cannot avoid coming across modes of action that reverse the prophetic teachings of the theorists of the non-violent method in politics and in the broader sphere of social, cultural and artistic action. The awareness of the unfinished trait, open to endless possibilities, that others will be able to grasp, in the wake of our initiative, is well expressed in the words that Armin T. Wegner left on the ceiling of his work room, in Stromboli: «We have been entrusted with the task of working on a piece, but we cannot complete it». By Amedeo Vigorelli
