On 11 May 2018 the Garden of the Righteous of Valenza has been inaugurated, born in the garden of the Cellini Institute of Valenza and dedicated to Giuseppina Gusmano of Casale Monferrato, who, together with Gioconda Carmi, in 1943 saved Jewish children from the concentration camp - hiding them at her home. Giuseppina has already been recognised Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem.
The daughters of Giuseppina Gusmano, Gabriella and Dirce Pretti have taken part in the inauguration, together with the director Massimo Biglia who made the film "L'ora del tempo sognato" ("The Hour of Time Dreamed") on the theme. The ceremony also saw the creation of an exhibition with the herbariums made by the students.
