On June 1, 2022 the Garden of the Righteous at the High School Ferraris in Torino was inaugurated.
The first Righteous honored are: Peppino Impastato, Felicia Impastato, Halima Bashir, Luz Long, Gino Bartali, Berta Caceres and Alexej Ananenko.
Furthermore, the commitment to the climate change and human rights of a former professor of Mathematics at the High School, Luigi Santorum, was remembered. He dedicated his life to the Project Otonga, in order to increase the reforestation and support to the local community in Amazonia. He has always been an example for the students, as a bearer of values such as respect for the others, defence of the life and of the environment.
The ceremony was held during the afternoon of June 1, 2022 and it was attended by more than 100 people from the community (students, teachers, school employees, parents, ...). The ceremony started with a brief presentation of the figures honored, both traditionally and dramatized, then it continued in the school hall, where an exhibition displayed the artworks made by the students, who participated to the Call "Adotta un Giusto" promoted by Gariwo.
