On March 17th, the first Garden of the Righteous located in the city of Verona has been inaugurated. The Garden has been situated in the green area of the local High School Fracastoro, named the Hortus of the Righteous, thanks to an initiative promoted by the Innerwheel Club of Verona Bee Lab.

The inaugural event has been organized in two parts: firstly, a conference named the “The charm of good” and secondly a symbolic moment in the green area.

During the initiative, the Honorary Consol of the Armenian Republic, Pietro Kuciukian, and the Professor Annamaria Samuelli, who is responsible of Gariwo’s Educational Committee, attended the conference, to which participated the teachers and the students involved in the project, along with the representatives of Verona’s Educatonato Statale agli Angeli and Verona’s Engim.

Azucena Villaflor and Armin Wagner have been the first Righteous honored in the Garden. Moreover, the vice sergeant Felice Sena - who saved numerous Jews from racial’s persecutions during World War II while he was working in the Verona’s police headquarter - has been remembered during the initiative.
