Garden of Taranto

On May 12, 2021, thanks to the efforts of Carmine Carlucci and Anna Maria La Neve, the Garden of the Righteous of Taranto was inaugurated.

The ceremony, animated by the music of the violinists of the Archita High School, was attended by Mayor Rinaldo Melucci, the Councillor for General Affairs Annalisa Adamo, the President of the Committee for the Quality of Life Carmine Carlucci, and Dr. Antonio Putignano representing the Provincial School Office.

"This is a fantastic place - the Mayor said - in the city's historic heart, which we are starting to redevelop. We will take care of this garden so that, as soon as possible, school children can enjoy it and come here to reflect on the history of our land".

Even prof. Carlucci expressed great satisfaction: "this project places Taranto within the wider, international network of Gariwo's Gardens of the Righteous Worldwide".

Every year, on March 6, a Righteous person will be chosen to be inscribed in the Garden's register.
