Prototype of the Tree of the Righteous by Cavaliere Atelier

Prototype of the Tree of the Righteous by Cavaliere Atelier

On 6 March 2019, the Comprehensive Institute "Rita Levi-Montalcini" of Noceto inaugurated the Garden of the Righteous by laying the first stone of an artistic monument dedicated to the memory of nine women from Parma who were awarded the honor of "Righteous among the Nations" for having saved, with their families, Jewish people during the Second World War, and also wanted to pay tribute to the memory of Rita Levi Montalcini.

The artistic monument consists of a 4 metre high steel tree that expresses the coexistence of three main elements. Solidity because the memory of the Righteous is eternal and anchored to the ground of History; the dynamism of life through the use of the luminous element: from the trunk, thanks to the application of an internal lighting system, a light source with a strong visual impact and evocative value spreads; the commemorative function: the monument, being alive, does not remain the same, but evolves over time thanks to the modularity in the design of the tree. The leaves, in fact, symbolize the Righteous to whose memory the monument is dedicated year after year, thanks to the engraving of their names on each new leaf, because the memory is cultivated like a growing tree: the tree lives thanks to the memory of each one.

The ceremony was attended by many local authorities, including the Mayor Fabio Fecci, the deputy mayor Daisy Bizzi, the councillor Antonio Verderi, the engineer Piera Levi-Montalcini, the writer Carla Maria Russo, the workshop of artists "Cavaliere Atelier" makers of the monumental work, the relatives of the Right among the Nations.
