On March 6, 2021, the Garden of the Righteous was inaugurated near the "Porto Romano" Comprehensive Institute of Fiumicino.

The students prepared by the music teacher, Giacomo Pruiti, put in place a performance with instruments and voices. They reproduced the sounds of nature, the drops of water beating on the ground at the beginning of a storm, the thunder, the breath of the wind. After the musical performance, two fruit trees were planted in memory of Chico Mendes and Wangari Maathai.

The Garden was born as part of the initiative "Adopt a Righteous". The students, with the art teacher, Roberta Ambrosini, created two panels that represent the trees of Chico and Wangari, placed in the garden during the ceremony.
