Ferrara - Perlasca C. I.

On 6th March 2014, the Comprehensive Institute of Ferrara has been named after Giorgio Perlasca, the man who - presenting himself as the Spanish ambassador in Budapest - rescued 5200 Jewish from deportation, providing them false documents. A tree has been dedicated to Perlasca in the garden of the school. 

The headmaster Stefano Gargioni, the mayor of Ferrara Tiziano Tagliani, the vice superintendent Mauro Vecchi, the Rabbi of the Jewish community, Franco Perlasca, the vice prefect of Ferrara Carlo Torlontano and Carabinieri force attended the ceremony. During the ceremony, the new plaque has been fixed on the entrance of the Comprehensive Institute.
