On 9 February 2017, the Garden of the Righteous in Campagna (SA) has been inaugurated inside the Museum of Memory and Peace -“Giovanni Palatucci” Study Centre. A magnolia tree has been planted in honor of Giorgio Perlasca and Giovanni Palatucci - ‘Righteous Among the Nations’ for having rescued several Jews from the Fascist persecutions.

In this occasion, some students had the opportunity to meet Franco Perlasca, son of the Righteous and Chairman of the Giorgio Perlasca Foundation. Several authorities attended the ceremony, among them the Commissioner of Salerno Pasquale Errico, the Mayor of Campagna Roberto Monaco, the Principal of the ISS Teresa Confalonieri School Rossella De Luca, the Director of the Giovanni Palatucci Museum Marcello Naimoli, and the Chairman of the Giovanni Palatucci Committee Michele Aiello.
