In order to celebrate the first European Day of the Righteous, on 6 March 2013 the Garden of the Righteous of Brescia was inaugurated in the south area of Park Tarello.

The initiative was organized by the association Filosofi lungo l'Oglio, in collaboration with Gariwo and Casa della Memoria and it was approved by the city of Brescia and councillors Mario Labolani and Andrea Arcai.

Six trees were planted in honor of Raphael LemkinJan Patočka, Monsignor Carlo Manziana, Teresio Olivelli, Etty Hillesum e Angelo e Caterina Rizzini.

The students of Brescia, Francesca Nodari from Filosofi lungo l'Oglio, Annamaria Samuelli from Gariwo and italian, armenian, polish and czechoslovakian witnesses took part in the ceremony. They commemorated the Righteous and their courage in fighting for love and justice.
