On 27 April 2019 the Garden of the Righteous was inaugurated in Borgo San Giacomo, in Rimembranze Square. The celebration, organized by the municipal administration, was attended by students, civil, religious and military authorities.
"It is with pride that today we honor our fellow citizens, who have disobeyed the laws by taking risks to save lives, commented the first citizen Giuseppe Lama, we are a special community, we remember who sacrificed himself to allow us to be free here today. Those who today disregard anti-fascism, resistance, can do so thanks to these people who allowed them to be here today”.
The first award was dedicated to: Angelo Migliorati, known in the village as a generous and altruistic person, his house was always the destination of some poor people, he supported materially and morally a Jewish family, with courage and generosity, helped them to escape to the countryside of Orzinuovi the night before the deportation of the fascists and provided them with false documents that allowed them to save themselves in Switzerland; don Giovita Faustino Beschi, ordained parish priest in 1933, later became a priest at Acqualunga, when the Silbermann family arrived he helped them without prejudice, in particular he took care of the four girls, and with Angelo Migliorati contributed to the escape of the family and collaborated with the partisans; the marshal Arturo Dalle Fratte, until 1945 commander of the local barracks, who contributed to the escape of the family.
The second award was dedicated to the Nodari family, who first welcomed the family on November 30, 1943; to Giuseppe Gloriotti and Maria Colombi, who from December 1943 hid Goldy, the youngest of the girls, and gave refuge to some soldiers; to the Corradini family, who housed some members of the family, securing some of their objects; and to the Ursuline Mothers of Brescia, who hid the girls Berta, Elena, Mina and Goldy until their transfer to Switzerland organized by the partisans.
