On 3 december 2015, the Garden of the Righteous of Agrigento was inaugurated in the archaeological park of the Valle dei Templi, between the Temple of Concordia and the Temple of Juno.
During the ceremony, Father Pino Puglisi, the priest killed by the Mafia in 1993, was honored with a olive tree. The initiative was supported by the Academy of Mediterranean Study in collaboration with the archaeological park "Valle dei Templi".
The authorities and the mayor of Agrigento, the academics, many educational institutes and Gabriele Nissim, Chairman of Gariwo, participated in the inauguration.
