On 6 March, European Day of the Righteous, Maestro Gaetano Liguori is to present his new album, A piano for the Righteous (Bull Records), in a great concert at Sala Alessi of Palazzo Marino.

The evening will be opened by actress Sonia Bergamasco, who will read excerpts taken from the texts written by the "Righteous" to be honoured at Milan's Garden of the Righteous on 8 March and poems dedicated to them.

Maestro Liguori will play the track The time of the Righteous, composed in honour of those who risked and still risk their lives to rescue other human beings, and a Ballad dedicated to the Suruc Youths - the young boys and girls from the Turkish village of Suruc at the border with Syria who were murdered only because they wanted to rebuild the library of Kobane.

You will also listen to tracks from the forty-year career of Maestro Liguori, who has always linked his name and music to social causes of struggle and solidarity.

Furthermore, you will listen to two variations on the theme of Don Giovanni by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix.

The event is part of the three-day initiative held by Gariwo  on behalf of the Associazione per il Giardino dei Giusti di Milano - to which it belongs along with Milan City Hall and  UCEI - and received the patronage of the Italian Chamber of Deputies and Senate of the Republic.

Celebrations of European Day of the Righteous will continue on 7 March at 3 pm with the international conference in Sala Alessi and will be crowned with the ceremony of dedication of the new trees in Milan's Garden of the Righteous on 8 March at 11.
