Tuesday 23 February a ceremony is to be held in the Refectory Room of San Macuto Palace - Camera dei Deputati in via del Seminario in Rome, to award the winners of the sixth edition of Fiuggi-Storia Prize. The Award is promoted by the “Giuseppe Levi-Pelloni” Foundation and the Holocaust Library in cooperation with the City Hall of the town of Fiuggi.
Paolo Mieli with “L’arma della memoria.Contro la reinvenzione del passato”(Rizzoli) (The weapon of memory. Against the reinvention of the past") and Simone Belladonna with “Gas in Etiopia” (Neri Pozza) win the sixth edition of the Premio FiuggiStoria for essays.
For the biography section the winner is Gabriele Nissim: for “La lettera a Hitler”(Mondadori) (The letter to Hitler).
Claudio Magris wins the prize for the section dedicated to historical novel with his book “Non luogo a procedere” (Non-suit ruling) (Garzanti).
The book “Di guerra e di pace-Diario partigiano ’44-’45", "Of war and peace- Partisan diary 1944-45) by Antonio Giolitti, curated by Rosa Giolitti and Mariuccia Salvati and published by Donzelli wins recognition of the diary section, while the section dedicated to unpublished works sees the victory of Ginevra Conti Odorisio for her "Linguet e i philosophes. Illuminismo e terrore” (Enlightenement and terror) (Giappichelli).
During the ceremony, the Prize “FiuggiStoria-Inviato Speciale Gian Gaspare Napolitano” will be awarded to Tg3 journalist Lucia Goracci.
The ceremony will be held in the presence of the short listed to the Prize FiuggiStoria “Lazio Meridionale” at the end of September 2015, including winner Lionello Prignani author of “Il Ponte Curvo e la sua gente” (Ponte Curvo, Curved Bridge, and his people) published by Tipografia Turchetta from Pontecorvo and Vincenzo Fiocchi Nicolai curator of collective work “Anagni Cristiana e il suo territorio. Dalla Tarda Antichità all’Alto Medio Evo” "Anagni as a Christian town, and its territory. From the late Antiquity to the High Middle Ages" published by Tored Editore.
